The recipe for the perfect winter is simple: Be at the heart of the action! New cable cars, illuminated pistes, festivals and one mega project to top it all off. This winter, the resorts of Jasná, Vysoké Tatry and Špindlerův Mlýn are packed with events. Winter holidays spent there aren’t just about skiing — they are full of experiences that begin at gopass.travel.
High Tatras: A new modern chairlift and the popular Tatra Temple of Ice
The High Tatras are raising the bar for winter experiences once again. Štrbské Pleso, Tatranská Lomnica and Starý Smokovec together offer 24 kilometres of perfectly groomed slopes and the legendary 2.5-kilometre-long sledging run from Hrebienok to Starý Smokovec. The new 8-seater Leitner chairlift of the Pininfarina designer edition is the biggest highlight of the season. With an investment of 11€ million, this lift connects two parts of the resort and takes skiing to new heights. Skiers can ride up to Medvedia kopa, from where they can descend either to the Furkota chairlift or zip down the Solisko and Turistická pistes.
The Tatra Temple of Ice in Hrebienok is one of the most magical spots in the High Tatras and rightly one of the most visited attractions in the mountain range. Since 2013, monumental ice structures have been created there, with a different theme and story each year. This year’s temple is set to open on 14th November 2025. The theme is still a secret, to be revealed at the grand opening.
Ice becomes art once again during the international Tatry Ice Master ice sculpting championships, which take place on 17th and 18th January 2026. Hrebienok transforms into a true open-air ice gallery, but that’s not all! During four Advent weekends, Christmas markets full of lights, scents and music will fill the air to create an irresistible festive atmosphere.

Winter in Jasná: Après-ski parties, night skiing and a new ski cross course
Jasná will be buzzing from morning to night. Whether you’re coming with children or friends, you won’t be disappointed! Young skiers are welcome to enjoy brand-new Maxiland in Krupová – a modern children’s arena that turns first steps on skis into a playful and carefree experience for the whole family. A new ski cross course brings speed and competitive spirit to Jasná, and you can enjoy it even after dark during night skiing under the lights.
Picture this: you are standing with skis on on fresh “corduroy”, and the silence is broken only by the whisper of the wind. This is how the morning Fresh Track in Jasná begins — an exclusive experience on perfectly groomed slopes accessible only to the fastest. And when the sun rises over Mt Chopok, breakfast is served with a view like no other at the legendary Rotunda Chopok restaurant, 2,004 metres above sea level.
The excitement doesn’t end at sunset, though. Jasná comes alive after dark, too — 4.3 kilometres of illuminated pistes will draw you into the magical atmosphere of night skiing, where sport becomes a pure experience.
For those seeking more adrenaline than relaxation, freeride zones, groomed cross-country skiing trails and ski touring routes offer a completely different perspective on Mt Chopok.
But the winter season in Jasná isn’t just about the slopes. Music festivals, sports events and après-ski parties make skiing a lifestyle here. At Jasná, winter is truly lived to the fullest.

Don’t miss the Winter Jasná Opening on 28th and 29th November 2025, the traditional signal for the start of the season in the resort.

Špindlerův Mlýn: The epicentre of sport, music and projects worth millions
This winter, Špindlerův Mlýn becomes a hub of experiences, music and sport. The legendary Špindl SkiOpening (13th December 2025) kicks off the season in style — on ski pistes, in the Champagne Lounge and during a spectacular evening show. Lucie, Wohnout, PSH and DJ Roxtar will keep Špindl moving into the night.
FIS Women’s Alpine Ski World Cup 2026: The world’s elite on one course
The world’s top female skiers are coming to Špindl! The prestigious Women’s Alpine Ski World Cup scheduled for 24th and 25th January 2026 promises adrenaline, precision and peak performances. This edition also serves as the final test before the Winter Olympics, so the tension will be high. Experience world-class skiing live – with roaring stands, fan zones, concerts, live broadcasts and thousands of enthusiastic supporters. Whether you’re a fan of alpine skiing or just after an unforgettable sports experience in the Czech Republic, the Women’s Alpine Ski World Cup will take your breath away.
FIS Alpine Snowboarding World Cup 2026: 7th and 8th March 2026
The FIS Alpine Snowboarding World Cup is one of the most prestigious events in the International Ski Federation calendar. Špindlerův Mlýn will not only see fierce competition for World Cup points, victory and national pride among the very best in the world, but also offer an incredible atmosphere for fans.
Špindlerův Mlýn ski resort: Winter programme doesn’t end there
13th and 14th March 2026 is the date of the brand-new Gopass Festival — two days of electronic music, drum & bass and snow under your feet. The inaugural edition promises an atmosphere Špindl has never seen before.
Adrenaline will peak during the Chinese Downhill — a crazy mountain bike race on the snow-covered Svatý Petr slope. On the contrary, the retro “Modrá Open” event is not about seconds, but rather about style and fun. So dig out some old suits and knee socks for extra points.
What’s new in Špindl?
The mega project connecting Špindlerův Mlýn areas is progressing, and construction preparations are now in the final phase. By next winter, a new connected piste with a modern cable car should welcome the first skiers.
The aim is to link the currently separate areas of Svatý Petr/Hromovka and Medvědín/Horní Mísečky with two new cable cars, expanded pistes and a modern snowmaking system connected to the Labská dam. The P1 parking area will be the main hub, linking the whole resort into a single functional unit. The first phase of the project was completed in 2023.
Add a new heated terrace at the Stadion Restaurant to this, and fresh interior design is just the cherry on top of the Špindlerův Mlýn resort.
