FLOW TRAIL & SKILL ZONE: A beginner-friendly center and trail have opened at Ještěd
A area for biking beginners and everybody who wants to improve their mountain biking skills was opened by the Ještěd ski resort in 2023. The new centre called “Flow trail & Skill zone” meant for mountain biking education is free of charge and ideal also for families with children.
The aim of the newly built beginner’s zone and kid’s cycling trail was mainly to expand the offer of summer services for cyclists while focusing mainly on families with children and beginners. The educational centre offers a 200-metre-long practice zone to improve biking skills, clay and wooden obstacles of various difficulty levels, a special obstacle to train balance and a section with stones. The 230-metre-long trail contains nine banked curves and a lot of obstacles too.

The Flow trail & Skill zone was added to the bike park, which has a long tradition and contains two official trails already. Visitors can zip down the hills with off-road scooters all summer long and enjoy the Fun zone, a playground, slides and a trampoline with kids. Amusing educational hiking trails called “Hidden stories” are worth trying too. What’s more, all activities at Ještěd are well-accessible. It takes only a few minutes to travel by tram from the centre of Liberec and only an hour by car from Prague.
E-bikes at Ještěd: A great family destination
Thanks to e-bikes, mountain cycling is now accessible to everyone – regardless of age, fitness level or experience. Gone are the days when a trip to the mountains required serious training. With an e-bike, everyone can set the motor assistance to suit their own pace, allowing the whole family or group of friends to stay together and enjoy an active day in nature.
What once involved compromise is now refreshingly simple. Those who are fitter can push themselves, while those with less stamina can take it easier and let the motor help on the climbs.
At the Ještěd Ski Resort, adults as well children can try out Mountfield e-bikes – modern, lightweight bikes that make the experience enjoyable for absolute beginners but also keen cyclists. Rentals are open even when the cable car is not running, so you can plan your bike trip at any time, depending on the weather and your mood. The resort recommends routes with or without cableway use – including family-friendly circuits and scenic panoramic rides.
