The Tatra Temple of Ice at Hrebienok will be open to the public from 14 November 2025 to 19 April 2026. As every year, entry is free of charge.
The Tatra Temple of Ice at Hrebienok is a magical place and the most visited attraction in the High Tatras, welcoming visitors to a kingdom of ice and snow since 2013. If you’re looking for a unique experience and a winter outing, the Temple is the perfect destination.
Each year, the ice structures are based on a different theme, embodying iconic architecture, symbolism and deeper meaning. Discover how the designs have evolved over the years.

In 2025, The Tatra Temple of Ice (1285 m a.s.l.) will open its thirteenth season with an exceptional theme paying tribute to two popes – Pope Francis, who passed away in 2025, and his successor Pope Leo XIV.
Symbolically, it connects the end of one era with the beginning of a new one and presents a theme with a profound spiritual and artistic message.

Opening times and admission fee
The Tatra Temple of Ice is open daily according to the funicular opening times during the 2025/2026 season. The ice beauty is free of charge for everybody. The Temple access is barrier-free, which means it is comfortable also for families with prams and people with limited mobility.
Other activities at Hrebienok
- Tatry Ice Master: The international ice sculpting championships, featuring teams from around the world, transform tons of ice into works of art, which you can witness firsthand. The sculptures will be displayed in the Gallery of Ice Masters until the end of the winter season. The rest of the sculptures will be displayed outdoors until they gradually melt.
- Sledging: Day and especially night sledging are popular attractions at Hrebienok for families and groups of friends alike. The 2.5 km track will take you back to your childhood and bring smiles to children’s faces. Fun is guaranteed!
- Hrebienok café & restaurant: Located at 1285 m above sea level, this restaurant is open during the cable car opening times and offers a cosy place to warm up in winter.
