Where to park at Štrbské Pleso?
There are several parking options available. The first is the central car park, which is the lowest-located one. Other options include the car park near stalls, the one in the direction of Popradské Pleso and finally the car park by the FIS Hotel.
1. Boating on Štrbské pleso (tarn)
Boating on the tarn of Štrbské pleso is the perfect family activity, combining fun and relaxation in a stunning mountain setting. Children will enjoy the adventure on the water, while adults can appreciate the peace and unique views of the Tatra peaks. From the tarn surface, you’ll see unmatched postcard-worthy panoramas. On sunny days, boating is a great way to spend time outdoors, surrounded by nature. No advance booking is needed, boating tickets can be purchased at the pier where you can get on and off the boats.

2. Chairlift trip to Mt Solisko and hike to Mt Predné Solisko
Take a chairlift from Štrbské Pleso to Mt Solisko and make a hike to Mt Predné Solisko. Along the roughly one-hour walk, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the majestic Tatra peaks and deep valleys below. The summit of Mt Predné Solisko at 2,314 metres above sea level is the final destination and one of the most popular spots in the area. It’s a fantastic way to admire the beauty of the High Tatras without a strenuous climb.
Trail length: 1.2 km
Duration: 1 hour
Difficulty: moderate hiking
Start: Solisko (1,820 m)
Finish: Predné Solisko (2,314 m)

If you love the mountains all year round, the Gopass SKI Season Pass is perfect for you. You can use it to travel with cable cars from the beginning of the summer to the end of the autumn season 2025, and of course, for skiing in winter.

3. Lookout Tatras Tower
The lookout tower is unique in offering full step-free access – from the entrance all the way to the very top. Thanks to the gently sloping path (with a gradient of just 6 to 8%), it’s ideal for families with pushchairs and visitors with reduced mobility. The barrier-free route gradually reveals ever more beautiful scenery as you go. Braver visitors can spice up the experience with a walkable net or a glass walkway – both offering an adrenaline-filled experience and a view directly beneath your feet. Trust us, not everyone dares to step onto these.

A combo ticket including the lookout tower and a return Vysoké Tatry – Solisko chairlift ride guarantees a fantastic family trip with breathtaking views of the Tatras right in front of you.
Great food at the FIS Hotel restaurant
You don’t need to go far for delicious food and tried-and-tested specialities. The FIS Hotel restaurant, located below the chairlift station, serves high-quality dishes and great coffee. The offer includes traditional Slovak meals as well as modern specialities prepared with top-quality ingredients. After your hike, sitting out on the terrace overlooking the surroundings is just what the soul needs.
