Smart Season Pass: A quick history overview
The Smart Season Pass was officially launched as a product in the 2015/2016 season. In the first season, skiers could use the season pass to ski in Jasná, Tatranská Lomnica, Štrbské Pleso, Starý Smokovec and in Špindlerův Mlýn in the Czech Republic. Over the years, the Smart Season Pass product expanded to include more resorts. In the current 2023/2024 season, it enables unlimited skiing in 10 resorts across 4 European countries.
In the 2017/2018 season, a new resort and a new country were added to the Smart Season Pass offer – Szczyrk in Poland.
In the 2018/2019 season, Smart Season Pass holders could use a 15% discount at selected restaurants and bars as well as at Motion facilities as part of the so-called Unlimited package. This extremely popular benefit is still used by PREMIUM Smart Season Pass holders.
The PREMIUM Smart Season Pass faced a shake-up during the challenging 2020/2021 season. The pandemic situation was the reason and led to several changes of the product. The local Smart Season Pass was offered for the last time that season and skiers could purchase it together with the Fast Pass for the first time. However, despite the challenges, the year was also exceptionally successful. Two Austrian resorts, Mölltaler Gletscher and Ankogel Mallnitz, were added to the Smart Season Pass portfolio.
In the 2021/2022 season, Smart Season Pass holders could ski in 4 countries and 10 resorts. Muttereralm Innsbruck in Austria and Ještěd in the Czech Republic were the last two resorts added to the offer.
In the 2022/2023 season, free parking in designated car parks was added to the Smart Season Pass benefits.
After nine successful seasons, it was time for a change in 2024/25. The goal was to simplify communication and improve clarity across different language versions, as the product is valid in four countries. The Smart Season Pass is now called the Gopass SKI Season Pass.
What do skiers appreciate about the Gopass SKI Season Pass? Its flexibility, wide range of resorts and numerous benefits.
