If you’re looking for a place where you could enjoy a full day of adrenaline, family fun and relaxation in a beautiful setting, Legendia, the amusement park in Katowice, Poland, is the perfect choice. The park is located by a lake and surrounded by greenery. At first sight, it feels more like a giant park filled with trees and flowers than just another “city of rides”.
Legendia amusement park: Facts and figures
- Size: Legendia covers an impressive area of 26 hectares, with plenty of greenery and shade from tall trees by a lake.
- Attractions: You’ll find over 40 different attractions – from gentle children’s ones and family favourites to those guaranteed to get your adrenaline pumping.
- Themed zones: The park is divided into five zones, each with its unique atmosphere, so you’ll never get lost.
- Nature and plants: This isn’t just metal and concrete – quite the opposite. With more than 800 plant species, Legendia feels more like a large landscaped park enhanced with fun features.
- Food and drinks: With 11 gastronomy facilities, you certainly won’t go hungry. From quick snacks and sweets to hearty meals, there’s plenty to choose from. We ate at the Oberża Lecha restaurant, and it was excellent!
Why is Legendia worth visiting?
Legendia also offers attractions for adrenaline lovers – including two roller coasters. One of them ranks among the best in Europe and is truly impressive! We would happily ride it again straight away. There is also a second, smaller coaster, but it delivers just as much excitement and adrenaline. Right beneath the Lech Coaster is the Oberża Lecha restaurant, whose terrace offers a stunning view of the entire structure – you can watch the coaster cars rushing past from up close.
The food was delicious. We tried meatballs with mushroom sauce and potato chips, and it was superb. You can either order from the menu or help yourself buffet-style to dishes such as schnitzels, potatoes, rice or fish. Across the park, you’ll also find restaurants and snack stands. Drinks can be served in themed Legendia cups decorated with attraction motifs, complete with a strap so that you can carry your cup around and refill as you go.

Must-try attractions
Legendia is packed with attractions for the whole family. We started with the pirate ship located immediately on the right-hand side after entering the park. The roller coasters are fantastic – visitors suddenly find themselves upside down before they even realise it. There are also calmer attractions for children, including slower carousels, teacups, chain swings, aeroplanes, the Basilisk’s Cave, a Ferris wheel, or a ride on pedal boats across the lake. If you would like to relax, there is a green zone around the lake where you can spread out a blanket or sit on the benches. Thanks to the Fast Pass, we did not have to queue, although Legendia was not overcrowded overall. Between the restaurants, you will also find stands selling cone ice cream, traditional ice cream, and a souvenir shop.
There are also trampolines and a huge slide next to a smaller roller coaster. Kids loved it, but plenty of parents joined in too, so individuals not preferring adrenaline attractions can have great fun as well. Next to the legendary planes, one can find another relaxation zone and a zone for children with an inflatable castle, bouncy slides and a large jumping area.

Our special experience suggestion
Stay until sunset and take a ride on the Ferris wheel. The views of Legendia and the surrounding area are breathtaking, and with fewer people around at that time, the experience feels even more magical.
Why should you bring spare clothes?
Be prepared to get wet on the water attractions! We recommend packing a change of clothes. The park does have a drying booth with built-in dryers, but it’s a paid service – 5 PLN per use.

Legendia after dark & Fast Pass advantage
In summer, the park comes alive in the evenings with special events. The attractions are beautifully illuminated, creating a completely different atmosphere than during the day. Although we didn’t manage every single ride, it’s definitely possible to experience almost all of them in one day – especially with a Fast Pass. Dedicated entrances (for example, at the Lech Coaster) can take you straight to the front rows, and exits are separate too. In Legendia, the fun is really around every corner.
