First impressions, hotel location and the views
Our first impression was: “Wow, this place is stunning!” Truly, it is a beautiful hotel. Even more important, though, was the number of children around – kids at reception, with parents in bathrobes getting out of the lift or heading to their rooms, children on the floors where different activities were taking place (more on that later). This only confirmed that we’d chosen the right place and that our 9-month-old Markus would be very welcome here. This really is a baby-friendly hotel through and through.
The Akvamarín Hotel is situated in the heart of the Liptov region, just a stone’s throw away from the thermal pools of the Bešeňová water park. The rooms offer beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and the water park. We stayed on the 8th floor, with a primary view of the Low Tatras, but since our room had an enormous terrace, we could also see the Western Tatras, the Fatra mountains and the entire Liptov region
Accommodation and catering
There are modern studio suites and suites with kitchenettes, which is something families with children will really appreciate — just as we did. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Each guest including the littlest ones is provided with a bathrobe and towels to be used in the water park or the hotel pool. The room is also fully equipped with everything you might need while staying there. An espresso machine in the room was a bonus for me — coffee with a mountain view? Now that’s what I call a hotel.
The Zafír hotel restaurant offers a wide selection of delicious meals, including vegetarian and vegan options. Breakfast, also served at the restaurant, includes a rich variety of dishes, fresh fruit and vegetables, and a children’s corner for making waffles, which we found to be a lovely touch. In this area, children have access to plastic cutlery and dishes, and they can safely prepare their food themselves. Not only does this encourage independence, but it also sparks creativity. It’s just one more reason why this hotel is clearly made with families in mind!
Hotel facilities, entertainment and attractions for children
The hotel is directly connected to the Bešeňová water park, where you’ll find numerous pools, water slides and attractions. There are children’s pools, play areas and group activities in the water parks, but kids can also have a great time in the hotel itself. On each floor, children will find various features such as table football, climbing frames for toddlers, a kids’ cinema and even a gaming console.
Sports, wellness relaxation for parents
The Akvamarín Hotel in Bešeňová offers a wide range of sports and relaxation activities for the whole family. Thanks to the direct water park connection, guests can enjoy easy access via a private hotel entrance, so you can slip into the outdoor swimming pool or frolic at water slides and in pools with your children any time you like. And if swimming’s not your thing, the area around the hotel is tailored for cycling, hiking and during the winter and early spring months – skiing in the nearby Jasná resort.
Hotel guests can relax in an exclusive private outdoor thermal pool which is perfect for a peaceful swim in warm thermal water. Each day of your holiday also includes a free three-hour access to the Harmónia wellness centre in the water park. This spa area features a variety of saunas including Finnish, steam, infrared and aromatic, plus whirlpools, a Kneipp pool and relaxing rest areas.

A walk to the Bešeňová Travertines
Just a few minutes’ walk from the hotel, you’ll find these unique formations created by mineral springs. Their colourful cascades are a beautiful natural wonder and a great spot for a short stroll.
A visit to the Havránok Archaeological Open-Air Museum
Located around 3 kilometres from the hotel, this reconstructed Celtic settlement gives you a glimpse into ancient history. Children can try out traditional crafts and learn more about how people lived in the past.
Lúčky Waterfall
Roughly 5 kilometres away is a 12-metre-high waterfall in the middle of the village of Lúčky. It’s a stunning natural attraction that’s easy to reach and suitable even for small children.
